At least 150 million women and girls are affected by Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), which continues to be performed in Africa, but also in Asia, Europe, America and Australia. The Desert Flower Foundation (DFF), established by Waris Dirie, seeks to end this crime by raising public awareness, creating networks, organizing events and educational programmes.
“2014 will be a special year for us. Together with your support and my Desert Flower Foundation Team we will save 1,000 little girls in Africa from Female Genital Mutilation. The successful rescue of little Safa, …, convinced us to offer the same contracts for many other girls.” Waris Dirie, Nov 2013

With the purchase of the HAND for LUCK
you will help to save a little Desert Flower.
The symbol, also known as Hamsa, has its origin in Africa. Hamsa means “five” and refers to the five fingers of a hand.
On the one hand the ancient but still popular talisman is a symbol of protection. On the other hand it is a token of mercy, power and luck.
